How I Got Here: 5 Years At Pragmatic Works

I recently celebrated my 5 year anniversary at Pragmatic Works. Boy, how time flies by. It feels like just the other day that I was a store manager for Blockbuster while going to school and living in a small apartment with a buddy who had just moved back from Orlando. Looking back over the last few years of my career I’m pretty amazed at how far I’ve come. I could do a write up about some of the...

A New Year is Right Around the Corner

If you read my 2013 Year In Review you may be here today wondering why I haven’t posted anything despite my stated desire to blog more over the next year. Well, it’s not because I’m waiting until after the new year or anything like that….well, not that may sound a little bit like a lie given my reasoning…I’ve simply been on vacation for the last week and a half...

Year In Review: 2013

Ok, so it’s not quite the end of the year yet. I figured I would get a head start on things. Who says that this type of post has to come on January 1st though? Well here goes. Let’s talk a little bit about what has happened in the last year and some of my goals for the next year. First Quarter I started the year out right by going skiing in Colorado at Breckenridge. For the last few...

SQL Saturday Jacksonville 2013 Wrap-up

It was another great year at SQL Saturday Jacksonville. For the last several years I have been lucky enough to be part of the group that organizes the event. It’s definitely a lot of work leading up to the event, the others on the team definitely do more work than I do, the day of the event is super crazy and I’m so happy when it is done. That being said I love being able to give back...

PASS Summit 2012

It’s finally here, PASS Summit 2012. Everything kicks off tomorrow and Tuesday with a couple days of pre-cons then the regular sessions on Wednesday to Friday. I’ve been in Seattle since late on Friday with a handful of Pragmatic Works team members. I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and having a great time! I’ll likely be spending Monday doing final...

Speaking at PASS Summit 2012

It’s about that time again, PASS Summit 2012 is right around the corner in Seattle, WA. It will be held at the convention center from November 6-9. This year will feature more than 170 sessions across 6 tracks from 90 speakers in addition to 2 days of pre-cons; and that doesn’t even include the sessions from Microsoft! I have spoken at a lot of SQL Saturdays, code camps and done a...

Content Shift, Still SQL, Just More SharePoint

Many of you may have notice that I have been a little inconsistent with my posts lately. It’s been a crazy couple of months. I just want to make everyone aware of a couple of things I’m about to do on the blog here. It’s not really going to be anything life-changing but it will affect some of the content. I’m in the process of looking for a new host. If I move that may...

Posting This Week

I just wanted to do a quick post to let everyone know that I am in fact going to be posting the follow up content that I promised in my webinar and at SQL Saturday.  It has been a busy busy week and I just haven’t had the time to get to it. Between work, SQL Saturday, some book stuff, traveling and more work I just haven’t gotten around to it.  I should have a little bit of free time...
